Hi, I'm Bidyut Maji, the developer of Fin Note. I built this app to be a clean, private, and lightning-fast way to manage personal budgets on Android. This page clearly explains what information the app uses, how your cloud sync works, and how you retain 100% control over your data at all times.
Local Biometric Lock
Fingerprint and biometric authentication are verified locally on your device hardware. No biometric data ever leaves your phone.
Real-Time Cloud Sync
Entries synchronize instantly and securely to your isolated Google Cloud Firestore storage space over TLS 1.3 encryption.
Complete Data Control
Export all your records to CSV whenever you want, or permanently delete your entire account and data with one tap in Settings.

Fin Note contains no ads, no ad tracking SDKs, and no data brokers. I do not sell, rent, or trade your personal or financial entries with anyone.
02 What Data is Collected
Fin Note collects only what is essential to provide high-speed financial tracking:
1. Your Google Account Details
- When you tap "Sign in with Google", Firebase Authentication provides your name, email address, and a unique user ID. This is used solely to link your expense entries to your own private account so they synchronize between your devices.
2. Your Financial Logs & Budgets
- The expense notes you log (e.g. "₹500 groceries"), amounts, dates, category names, and your monthly budget limits. These are saved to calculate your monthly totals, pacing, and category charts.
3. Crash Diagnostics
- If the app ever crashes, Firebase Crashlytics sends an anonymous error stack trace (such as device OS version and crash line). This contains no transaction details and helps me fix bugs quickly.
Permissions Fin Note Does NOT Request
To keep your phone completely private, Fin Note does not request:
- Your location (GPS)
- Your phone contacts or call logs
- Your SMS messages
- Your camera, microphone, or photos
- Your bank login details, UPI PINs, or card numbers
03 Biometric App Lock
You can optionally turn on App Lock in Settings to require fingerprint or face unlock when opening Fin Note.
This is handled 100% by Android's built-in BiometricPrompt inside your phone's hardware security chip. The app only receives a cryptographic verification from Android to unlock the screen. I never see, collect, or upload your fingerprint or biometric data.
04 How Your Data is Used
- Expense Tracking: Calculating monthly spending, daily averages, category breakdowns, and budget pacing.
- Encrypted Cloud Sync: Syncing your ledger securely using Google Cloud Firestore so you don't lose data when switching devices.
- AI Parsing (FinSense): If you type multi-line natural text (like "₹200 petrol, ₹80 coffee") or view spending reports, text is parsed using Google Gemini API. This is processed on the fly and is never used to build advertising profiles.
- Customer Support: Answering questions or handling data deletion requests sent to bidyutbmaji@gmail.com.
05 Third-Party Cloud Services
Fin Note uses industry-standard infrastructure from Google LLC:
- Firebase Authentication & Cloud Firestore: For user sign-in and encrypted cloud database storage.
- Firebase Crashlytics: For anonymous crash debugging.
- Google Gemini API: For natural language expense parsing and spending summary insights.
There are no marketing SDKs, no AdMob, and no social media trackers in Fin Note.
06 Security & Encryption
- Encryption in Transit: All communication between the app and cloud servers uses HTTPS / TLS 1.3 encryption.
- Encryption at Rest: Cloud Firestore data is encrypted on Google Cloud storage disks.
- Account Isolation: Cloud database security rules ensure only your authenticated Google account can read or write your records.
07 Exporting Data & Deleting Your Account
You own your data completely. You can export it or permanently delete it whenever you choose:
1. Export to CSV
Open Fin Note → go to Settings → tap Export to CSV. A spreadsheet file with all your entries is saved directly to your phone.
2. Permanent Account & Data Deletion
You can delete your account and all records in two ways:
- 1Open Fin Note.
- 2Tap the Settings gear icon on the top right.
- 3Under Account, tap Delete Account & Data.
- 4Confirm the deletion prompt.
All your transactions, budgets, profile info, and account credentials are permanently wiped from the database immediately.

09 Children's Privacy
Fin Note is designed for general audiences and is not intended for children under 13. I do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided their data, please contact me and I will delete it right away.
